Hi.

This is a blog about living life in all the sweetest light. Let’s move forward in joy, clarity and growth.

So I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the phrase, “trust your gut.” Really spending a lot of time wondering when it is that I’m truly present in my body. When we hear, “ trust your gut,” it’s really referring to trusting your intuition and listening to your inner guidance and following what we already know is the right path and the right answer for us.. When it comes to hard decisions and things that are difficult or life-changing it’s super important obviously to trust our gut. How about in the little choices? In the everydayness of making those little tiny decisions that can shift our lives into one direction or the other. In taking the steps On the road that will either tip us toward or away from something.

In this crazy time of clinical uncertainty, of questioning whether or not we’re making the right decisions for our health or our family or our economy, the question of uncertainty really stands out. When in truth we’re always living in uncertainty and our illusion of control over things often falsely fuels our momentum and our direction. It’s important for me to sit back and truly recognize that control and certainty are always an allusion and we’re really always living in the present moment. So it bears to reckon when we think about trusting our gut, how often are we actually paying attention to the physical sensations that our body is giving to us as a message. We all know that feeling when something really wonderful just happened or is about to happen. That amazing, exhilarating, electric feeling when we’re around someone who lights us up or who fills us with so much love that it just bursts out of every single one of our pores. We are also pretty aware of that terrifying dreadful rock in the belly feeling when something really bad is about to take place. When we’re about to spend time around people or places that drain us. But I think what I’ve been really wondering about lately is how about all those places in between those extremes. All the little moments where we make tiny decisions based on a thought or a really quick reactionary feeling. Do I go for a run today? Do I make a call to that person today? Do I drop everything I’m doing and planning to make someone else happy or to accommodate them?

Are we spending time in our physical bodies? Are we really paying attention to the thought in our mind and how it connects to the tingling of our skin or the fluttering in our belly or the tensing of our muscles? It is those little moments in the everyday occurrences that truly exemplify what it means to be embodied and what it means to be present and what it means to trust our gut.

Yes maybe our intuition starts in our gut but the rest of the body is an intricate connected network, sending us signals all day long. We always know exactly where we need to be going. We always know what the right decision is even when we reach out to trusted friends and advisers, when we read books, when we look things up on the internet. Ultimately, we are the creators and makers of our own path in our own way. We are already filled with all of the information and knowledge and answers. So we practice. We practice being in our body. We practice paying attention to our inner divine indescribable wisdom. Again, and as always, with full knowledge that we are exactly where we need to be. These little moments when we’re paying that much more attention to all the systems communicating at once. When we are that much more present is when we experience the little shifts that then add up to the big differences in this beautiful life. The little tiny moments that add up to our own miracles. I see you. I love you. Keep going.
