raise the bar
Listen. Listen closely to the whispers of your heart that are telling you not to live this life making yourself small. This world is wide and waiting. Open your arms out to the sky and be willing to accept more. Do not settle for that which you thought was good enough for someone else. Be ready to ask for and accept what is meant for you. Most importantly know this, what is for you is bigger, more encompassing and deeper than what you can possibly begin to imagine. Listen closely and you will hear what that is. If you cannot yet hear it then you must be willing to ask for it and accept it when it unfolds for you. Raise the bar on your life and let your intuition be the guide. If you do not know or hear or trust your intuition, that is such a great place to start.

When we stay fully in an experience and it would be easier to run, or numb or to pass it along to someone else-we are raising the bar. When we choose breath over anger, even when we know we are wronged-we raise the bar. When we remain rooted in the belief that what is meant for us will not pass by, and there is no need to force, manipulate, mold it, or push our timeline-we raise the bar. When we follow a path that feels like home even when we are shaking with fear and uncertainty-we raise the bar. When we choose to surround ourselves with people who fill our lives with what feels like easy sunshine even in the midst of a torrential downpour-we raise the bar. When we make choices with the full knowledge that our actions affect other people, other energies, other beings, some of whom we may never be aware of see or have contact with-we raise the bar. When we live with the intention to remain open to all the experiences that are meant to change us and all of the growth meant to expand us-we raise the bar. When we decide to do the hard things even though they are the hard things, when we choose to do them over and over again for the greater good of all-we raise the bar. When we remember that just the mere existence of us makes us worthy of love and belonging-we raise the bar. When we choose over and over again to stand in our own light, knowing that by doing the next best thing we are not only being of service to ourselves and those closest to us but that the light will be seen by any who need to be inspired and moved by it-we are raising the bar.
Listen. Closely. Remember this. Raise the bar. And when you think you are raising the bar on this life too high for what is meant for you, ask that it be raised a little more and for the courage to meet that expectation and to believe in your heart of hearts that deep worth that has always been yours. I see you.
